The Holodomor Through the Eyes of Ukraine’s Scholars: Essays on the Famine-Genocide of 1932–1933 in Soviet Ukraine

Since Ukraine’s independence in 1991, the study of the Holodomor has resulted in thousands of publications by Ukrainian authors, both popular and scholarly. Yet the international academic community is largely unfamiliar with these works. This volume of twelve translated essays makes available writings by Ukraine’s scholars to a wider English-language readership and is of value not only to those researching the Holodomor but also to those interested more broadly in Ukrainian and Soviet history. Most of the topics addressed have received little attention in English-language historiography.
